Session Overview

During this fun and creative 1-2hr session you will take part in mindfulness meditation around the themes of Pride, i.e. open-heartedness, social progress, acceptance. This session will introduce you to artists looking at LGBTQ+ themes, such as Jake Grewel, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Jonathan Lyndon Chase and Jes Fan. There will also be visualisation/imagination exercises around our deeper desires, as well as breathwork and shaking.

This session will include life drawing exercises: drawing each other either through the screen or in person with various different instructions, i.e. without taking the pen off the page, drawing with your non-dominant hand etc. This self-drawing exercise is for practising body awareness, and the formlessness within what we know as form. Drawing exercises will allow you to explore our perception of reality, social conditioning, inherited and systemic beliefs, i.e. drawing the space between things for a different perspective, and to dissolve binaries, i.e. squiggle drawings.

You will be creating a final piece drawing on the themes and techniques used. At the end, there will be a short period for (optional) sharing and discussion around the themes and artworks created.
